Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description Summary:   E Responsible for carrying out plant and corporate quality initiatives.  The work involved is related to the overall management and general business operations of the quality function.  Maintain compliance and registration to ISO 9001:2008.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Review and update quality procedures for compliance to ISO 9001:2008.  Ensure compliance to ISO standard. Conducts Management Review of the Quality System. Implement and administer preventive and corrective action programs. Respond to customer complaints, audits, etc. Review quality requirements on all contracts and implement required actions to be compliant. Responsible for maintenance and calibration of all test and measuring equipment. Review non-conforming material and resolve issues with suppliers and manufacturing. Monitor key plant operation and recommend actions to be taken to improve yields and overall productivity. Manage and address non-conformities from internal and external audits. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of quality engineers, quality technicians and test technicians. Required Skills ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Manage Quality Assurance activities to coordinate the efforts of personnel for contribution to operational goals utilizing EnerSys business processes. Leads and coordinates key Quality Assurance projects and activities; provides for supplier quality, process quality, finished goods and quality systems consistent with the ISO 9000 prevention model, and specifications of the commercialized product customer requirements.    Lead and coordinate the activities of department personnel; provides for regular activity reporting, also technical information provided internally or to customers and outside contacts. Participate in business planning activities to support company plant wide goals. Utilize Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma management to establish and accomplish objectives. Help develop and maintain accurate quality standards, procedures, and instructions, providing linkage and alignment with corporate criteria/ maintain systems consistent with ISO requirements. Develop and implement new and innovative quality procedures and processes that will advance the position of the product line. Organize and direct group activities to achieve Cycle Time Reduction and First Pass Yield improvements. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers of all levels. Be accessible to peers and production workers in order to address questions and concerns related to areas of responsibility. Additional duties as required, which may include assignments in other functional areas. Provides and maintains a safe working environment, resolving all unsafe acts or conditions relevant to prescribed safety procedures. Ensures that Quality Assurance personnel adhere to applicable local, state, and federal ordinances regarding environmental management, material storage, usage and disposal. May halt processes if deemed unsafe. Varied duties accomplished through the use of systems, communications links, organizational tools, aggressive follow-up and adherence to deadlines. Manage the three dimensional aspects of product quality, continuous improvement, and production schedules in order to bring about externally and internally driven changes in materials, methods, documentation, and quality requirements. Must interface effectively with sales/marketing and customers to resolve problems and complaints; analysis and technical reporting, coordination, disposition of product returns. Help develop and implement long term improvements while dealing with immediate short term emergencies, accomplished by organizing priorities and deadlines and creative allocation of resources. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and direct employees within the work group, ensuring consistent and fair practice under the guidance of the company's personnel policies. Complete accurate and timely performance appraisals and reviews, counseling, referring, coaching, promoting teamwork, motivation, supporting, giving guidance and direction, and implementing disciplinary measures within HR guidelines. Manager skills of planning, organization, directing and controlling parallel and multiple projects essential to all aspects of the position.     Required Experience QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, inventory software, and internet software and manufacturing software. Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to wear all PPE required by policy or OSHA regulations. Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to solve problems, which requires the collection and analysis data and use problem solving skills. Ability to communicate and exchange information with regulatory and product listing agencies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Professional quality society affiliation a plus but not required. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be creative, have excellent analytical skills, above average knowledge and experience in application of statistical techniques, possess high personal performance standards. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Education and/or Experience: Four years of college or Bachelors degree equivalent in an appropriate discipline plus six (6) years experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and specifically related work experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
