Grain Regulatory Auditor


n

The Missouri Dept. of Agriculture&s;s Grain Regulatory Services Program licenses and regulates grain warehouses and grain dealers in Missouri, offering a means of protection to Missouri&s;s grain producers in case of warehouse or grain dealer insolvency. Any person or business must have a valid grain dealer license as well as any grain elevator in Missouri that stores grain for others.

LOCATION:
West Central Missouri (Platt, Clay, Ray, Jackson, Lafayette, Cass, Johnson, Bates, Henry, St. Clair counties) -- applicant must reside in one of these counties or be willing to relocate

SALARY:
$44,500.08 annually (Full-time, benefited position)

Flexible 40 hour workweek schedule, state vehicle provided

What you&s;ll do:


n

  • n
  • Examine grain company business records and facilities, conduct interviews to determine whether a Missouri Grain Warehouse or Grain Dealers license is in compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations.

  • n
  • Prepare and submit investigations and audit findings using laptop computer and associated software.

  • n
  • Conduct physical inventories of stored grain(s) which require the ability to adapt to and work in an environment that will periodically include factors such as noise, foul air, grain dust, inclement weather, extreme heights and moving machinery.

  • Communicate audit findings with grain company management, accountants, and attorneys to explain applicable statutory and administrative regulative provisions.

  • n
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, grain businesses, other professionals in the grain trade industry and the general public.

Minimum
Qualifications:


n

Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with at least 6 semester hours in accounting or auditing, and coursework in finance, economics, or auditing preferred. Professional or technical experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, business or public administration or in a closely related area may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for any deficiencies in the required education.

NOTE:
Applicant must be able to pass an agency administered grain accounting exam. Agricultural experience is desirable.
